Product description:

The Celtic cross, which originated in the 5th Century A.D., has a shape based on a pagan sun symbol (the sunwheel), which came to be the symbol of the Christian Godhead.  It was originally a cross surrounded by a circle with a center stone representing the sun and "mock suns" at the four quarters.  The Picts ("the painted ones") were a tribe in Scotland north of the river Clyde.  They were known for their sophisticated stone carvings and animal images on their crosses.

This particular Pictish Cross is a sculptural reproduction of an old Celtic work and is made of hydrostone.  A permanent hook is attached to the back for easy hanging on a wall.  It measures 12" tall.
